"It is amazing watching a community come together for this wonderful cause. It shows that the spirit of helping people in need has not been lost, in this age of hurry up lifestyles. As I watched what seemed like a well orchestrated ballet play out in front of me, I could not help but reflect on the good old times, when the community came together and help one of our own in need, to this magnitude. The Extreme Makeover, Home Edition did something that I am sure most of us will realize once we have time to reflect. It brought complete strangers together, it brought competing businesses together, and it will build friendships for life. So to the Design Built Homes, EMHE, all businesses who donated materials, time and money, and to the people of Peoria/Pekin metro who came together to make this miracle happen, Job Well Done! The True American Spirit is still alive!"
