Funds - We Need $130,000!
No
Amount is too small or too big. There are a lot of expenses in a
project like this. The funds we collect will go to pay for
the project and pay off the Grys' mortgage. Please help! If everyone
donated a minimum of $5 to this project we would be well on our way to
covering all the expenses. To learn more about how you can donate, go
to http://www.designbuilthomesextreme.com/donatefunds.htm
Other communities have done it! Let's show the nation that Central Illinois can do it too!
The Build
Please comment to this posting if you have items to give.
Work Gloves! We need lots of dry work gloves.
Winter mittens or stretchy gloves. They are getting wet and we need pairs that are dry!
The family also needs an above ground pool donated. The family had an above ground pool that was not able to be saved prior to the demolition. We would like to make sure that they will be able to have the same amenities with their new home.
The Designers Need Your Help Too!
If you watch the show, you know that they do some
AMAZING things with the donations that they get. They really need your
help and the sooner they know they have these items the happier they
will be! Please keep reading to see what they need for their amazing
designs. Please comment to this posting if you have items to give.

Gift Cards in the Order of Importance:
- Mastercard
- Visa
- Target
- Hobby Lobby
- Barnes & Noble/ Borders
- Lowes - very little need here but just in case
- Please no Sears - we've got a budget there already
Note: Please pay special attention at the register to make sure the dollar amount you are paying gets onto the card. Please also make sure that the card does not get demagnetized. We have had instances where the dollar amount is written on the card but when we get to the registers there is no money on the card! Also, after you purchase the Masterard or Visa, you can register it online to ensure their purchase is all a go.
****Please get your Gift Cards quickly! We have to have time to use them!
To get the gift cards into the design team's hands, drop them off at the build site (you will find out where that is on Tuesday!) Bring them by the Volunteer Check-in and have that person walkie Tony (who is in charge of Bin City) on channel 8 that there is a donation delivery. Then the volunteer tent will direct the donor to Bin City where Tony will meet them where we will keep them safe.
If you donate and would like to let the family know you have donated, please write a letter to them on this form and share your story. We will make sure this letter gets to the family.
Food
At this time we are thrilled to say we do not have any food needs. The tent is filled to the brim and we need some place left over for people to sit! Thank you so much to everyone contributing.
Please know that while we appreciate everyone that has brought home cooked stuff, we cannot use it. The health department will only allow items that are cooked in licensed facilities. Please take what ever money you were going to invest in food to the National City Bank and ask to deposit it to the Design Built Homes Extreme fund.
Volunteers
At this time we have all of the volunteers that we need for shifts. If you have volunteered and do not know if you are on a shift, please check www.DesignBuiltHomesExtreme.com.
We have about 500 volunteer slots to fill and over 4000 people that have volunteered. Please know that we value your offer, but cannot give everyone a slot. Also, as a volunteer, you will not be actually building the house. Skilled contractors volunteered their time to do the build so that we are sure that everything is very safe. Volunteers on the project are there to make sure that the skilled workers can keep going! Please see the volunteer page on www.DesignBuiltHomesExtreme.com for more information.
Please note: we check with each area prior to publishing these updates, so they are current as of the time of publication every day.
